Dr. Prita Patel
Dr. Prita Patel was born and raised in a small town of south Georgia and is a Georgia peach at heart. After graduating high school in 2011, she moved to Athens, Ga to attend the University of Georgia and obtained her B.A. in Communication Studies and B.S. in Psychology. In her sophomore year of college, she knew she wanted to be in the healthcare field, but wanted to focus more on the alternative approach to health and emphasize holistic well-being of the human body. After doing thorough research on the field of chiropractic, she shadowed two chiropractors that summer and knew this was something that she saw herself doing. The fall of her senior year at UGA, she was accepted to Life University College of Chiropractic, the world’s largest chiropractic program. Following graduation in May 2015, she began her studies at Life University that October.
While studying chiropractic, Dr. Patel dove into all adjustment techniques and during her clinical experience, realized that every individual responds differently to each technique, therefore having an array of knowledge and examining what works best is always key in doing what she can to get each patient better. Upon graduation in December of 2019 and amidst the global pandemic, she made the big move from Georgia to South Jersey and joined the Mainland Wellness team in October of 2020.
Dr. Patel focuses primarily on clinical rehabilitation after the chiropractic adjustment and is certified in myofascial cupping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization or IASTM, and kinesiology taping. She also uses Diversified Technique, including Activator Method, Full Spine, Thompson, and pediatric technique.
When not in the office and seeing patients, Dr. Patel enjoys cheering on her Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons, traveling, finding new local coffee shops/restaurants, shopping on Amazon, and most importantly, getting used to the South Jersey winter!
